Each 2023 Malibu model comes standard with a 1.5-liter turbo engine and a continuously variable transmission. With this powertrain combo, you'll get a solid 160 horsepower and 184 lb-ft of torque. And that's not all - with fuel efficiency ratings of up to 29 mpg in the city, 36 mpg on the highway, and 32 mpg combined, you can look forward to spending less at the pump when you're behind the wheel of the Malibu. You can also look forward to a smooth, agile ride thanks to features like a four-link rear suspension and a brake system that comes with DuraLife® rotors and high-performance lining.

Exterior design

The 2023 Malibu showcases a sleek, sculpted exterior look that stands out confidently wherever you go. The sedan rides on standard 16-inch aluminum wheels, with larger designs available on higher trims. Seven paint color options are available, ranging from Summit White and Mineral Gray Metallic to Riverside Blue Metallic and Radiant Red Tintcoat.

As you move up trim levels, you'll find an array of styling choices. RS trims receive black and red badging, a black and chrome grille, dual exhaust outlets, and 18-inch wheels. LT and 2LT trims are available in three special editions: Midnight, Sport, and Redline. All three of these sport 19-inch wheels. The Sport Edition also features blacked-out accents, and Midnight complements these with an intimidating Mosaic Black Metallic paint job. Redline comes with red-accented black wheels, mirrors, and other highlights.

Interior comfort and convenience

The 2023 Malibu provides a comfortable, convenient space for you, your passengers, and your belongings. Inside, you'll find room for up to five people on seats upholstered in premium cloth. The back seat offers 38.1 inches of legroom so adults can ride without feeling cramped. The trunk holds up to 15.7 cubic feet of cargo, and the 60/40 split rear bench seat folds down to give you even more flexibility.

The RS trim level qualifies for premium upgrades like a wrapped steering wheel and an eight-way power driver's seat with lumbar controls. LT adds heated front seats and dual automatic temperature control, while 2LT receives a heated steering wheel and available perforated leather upholstery. Both LT and 2LT models are available with a dual-pane power sunroof as well. 

Infotainment tech

You'll stay well-connected in the 2023 Malibu thanks to the standard Chevrolet Infotainment 3 System. This setup gives you an 8-inch color touch display, wireless Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ compatibility for your smartphone, and Bluetooth® features like hands-free calling and audio streaming. In addition, all trims give you a Wi-Fi® hotspot and three years of Remote Access services. When you upgrade to 2LT, you'll also get a nine-speaker Bose® premium audio system and connected navigation with enhanced voice recognition.
